19 Days Yangtze River with Hong Kong Promotion
Day 1 SFO/BEIJING
Board Air China or United Airlines wide body jetliner for Beijing, Capital of China. Cross the Int'l Date Line and lose a day.
Day 2 BEIJING
Arrive Beijing, the capital of China, check into the five-star King Wing Hotel or similar.
Day 3 BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Today we'll visit Tian-an-men Square and Forbidden City, the residence of Emperors for more than 500 years. The Temple of Heaven, where Emperors nce prayed for good harvests, the Summer Palace, a smmer resport for Emperor Dowager Ci Xi.
Day 4 BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Full day excursion to the spectacular Great Wall, a symbol of the ancient Chinese civilization and to the Ming Tombs, the burial grounds for 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors. Enjoy a Beijing Duck Banquet in the evening.
Day 5 BEIIJING/SHANGHAI (AB, L, D) After breakfast transfer to the airport and take an afternoon flight to Shanghai. Today's sightseeing includes the Museum of Art and History, the world-renowned Bund on the city's waterfront, and int'l area developed during the colonial era. Check into the four-star Ambassador Hotel or similar.
Day 6 SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)
Visit the major attractions, such as Nanjing Road, Yuyuan Garden in the Old Quarter, and
the Jade Buddha Temple. Acrobatic Show at night.
Day 7 SHANGHAI/WUHAN (AB, L, D)
Fly to Wuhan at the junction of the Han and Yangtze Rivers. Visit Yellow Crane Pavilion
and the Museum before get on board the Deluxe China Regal Cruiser approved by the National Tourism
Administration of China, or similar class cruiser. (Boat information can be found on the hotel and boat page.)
Day 8 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Sailing through beautiful countryside for the day. On board activities include all kinds
of lectures presented by your river guides. Enjoy a welcome cocktail
party hosted by the captain.
Day 9 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L,D)
Cruising to upper Yangtze and pass through the massive 230-foot high Gezhouba Dam at
Yichang. Here the ship will pass through one of the three massive locks. Continue to sail
pass the first of the Three Gorges, Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. Our cruiser will then pass through the world largest, just newly completed
five-stage Three Gorges Dam Lock. After then, take a short excursion to the world famous
Dam site and the second of the Three Gorges -- Wu Gorge. Ship will dock for the
night after arriving at town of Wushan.
Day 10 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
This morning we will board smaller boats for a trip up the Daning River to the Three
Lesser Gorges, a stunning area of dramatic hillsides, caves and lushes bamboo groves, or
excursion to Shennong Stream. Our cruisers will then continue onto the last of the Three
Gorges, Qutang Gorge.
Day 11 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Today we continue to cruise upstream to visit Wanxian on a shore excursion which is a new residential area for the three gorges immigrants and also visit local farmers market or Kindergarden classrooms, or visit the ancient city of Fengdu where we explore the local temples before returning on board for a farewell banquet.
Day 12 CHONGQING/XI'AN (AB, L, D)
Our cruise concludes as we arrive in Chongqing, then take a city tour and visit the Panda
Zoo. Take late afternoon flight to the ancient city of Xi'an. Check into the four-star Hotel Royal Garden Xi'an or similar.
Day 13 XI'AN (AB, L, D)
A full-day sightseeing features one of tour highlights, the army of Terra Cotta Warriors,
created 2,200 years ago to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Also visit the
Neolithic Banpo Village, an archaeological site discovered in the 1950's, the majestic
Wild Goose Pagoda and the ancient City Wall. Top off the day with Dumpling
Dinner followed by Tang Dynasty Culture Show!
Day 14 XI'AN/GUILIN (AB, L, D)
Morning flight to the mystical of Guilin. City tour features the Reed Flute Caves and
Elephant Trunk Hill. Check into the five-star Lijiang Waterfall Hotel
or similar.
Day 15 GUILIN (AB, L, D)
Spend the day aboard a scenic Li River cruise, passing picturesque farms and fishing
villages with its thousands of limestone outcroppings, Guilin has been the inspiration for
generations of silk scroll painters.
Day 16 GUILIN/GUANGZHO/HONGKONG (AB, L)
Fly to Guangzhou in the morning. A city tour shows Chen Clan Temple and Dr. Sun Yat-sen
Memorial Hall. Then take a train to Hong Kong. Check into four-star
Park Hotel or similar.
Day 17 HONGKONG (AB)
Half-day Hong Kong Island tour begins in the morning including a cable car ride up to
Victoria peak for a panoramic view of Hong Kong. You also visit Repulse Bay and Aberdeen
with its floating community. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure for shopping and personal
activities.
Day 18 HONGKONG (AB)
Enjoy a free day and exploring.
Day 19 HONGKONG/SFO or LAX (AB)
Fly home on board Cathay Pacific or United Airlines wide body jetliner.
