When you arrive in Wuhan, you have enough time to take a city tour, visiting the famous Provincial Historical Museum and Yellow Crane Tower and other city importance. Then get on board the Cruise after dinner. The cruise starts off in the evening. face_2.gif (1010 bytes)When you arrive in Wuhan, you have to make an immediate transfer to your boat station at Yichang, spending 7-8 hours on bus and get on board in the dark. The whole day of bus riding could make you very tired and sightseeing begins the day after.
On the second day of cruise, the ship will pass though the famous massive 230-foot high Gezhouba Dam built in the early Fifties. Then continue to the New Three Gorges Dam. face_2.gif (1010 bytes)The ship bypasses the historical Gezhouba Dam, and you miss a great chance to visit this famous spot.

Day 1 SFO /BEIJING
Board Air China or
United Airline's wide cabin 747 jetliner for Beijing. Cross the int'l date line and lose one day.

Day 2 ARRIVE BEIJING
Arrive in Beijing, then transfer and check into the four-star Millennium Hotel or similar.

Day 3 BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven.

Day 4 BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Full day excursion to the spectacular Great Wall and the famous Ming Tombs. Enjoy Beijing Duck Banquet in the evening.

Day 5 BEIJING/WUHAN (AB, L, D)
Fly to Wuhan at the junction of the Han and Yangtze Rivers. Visit the Yellow Crane Pavilion and the Museum before get on board the
Deluxe China Regal Cruiser approved by the National Tourism Administration of China, or similar class cruiser. (Boat information can be found on the hotel and boat page.)

Day 6 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Sailing through the beautiful countryside for the day. On board activities include all kinds of lectures presented by your river guides. Enjoy a welcome cocktail party hosted by the captain.

Day 7 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L,D)
Cruising to upper Yangtze and pass through the massive 230-foot high Gezhouba Dam at Yichang. Here the ship will pass through one of the three massive locks. Continue to sail pass the first of the Three Gorges, Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. Our cruiser will then pass through the world largest, just newly completed five-stage Three Gorges Dam Lock. After then, take a short excursion to the world famous Dam site and the second of the Three Gorges -- Wu Gorge. Ship will dock for the night after arriving at town of Wushan.

Day 8 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
This morning we will board smaller boats for a trip up the Daning River to the Three Lesser Gorges, a stunning area of dramatic hillsides, caves and lushes bamboo groves, or excursion to Shennong Stream. Our cruisers will then continue onto the last of the Three Gorges, Qutang Gorge.

Day 9 YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Today we continue to cruise upstream to visit Wanxian on a shore excursion which is a new residential area for the three gorges immigrants and also visit local farmers market or Kindergarden classrooms, or visit the ancient city of Fengdu where we explore the local temples before returning on board for a farewell banquet.

Day 10 CHONGQING / XI'AN (B, L, D)
Our cruise concludes as we arrive in Chongqing, then have a city tour and visit Panda Zoo. Take late afternoon flight to the ancient city of Xi'an if the boat arrives on time. Check into the
four-star Hotel Royal Garden Xi'an or similar.

Day 11 XI'AN (AB, L, D)
A full day tour recalls the glories of ancient Xi'an, as we visit the burial site of an incredible army of 8000 lifelike terra-cotta soldiers; Neolithic Banpo Village; majestic wild Goose Pagoda. Top off the day with Dumpling Dinner followed by Tang Dynasty Culture Show!

Day 12 XI'AN / DUNHUANG (AB, L, D)
Morning flight to Dunhuang. Dunhuang is a small town considered by many to have been the most important caravan stop along the Silk Road. Not far from town, visit the Singing Sands, giant sand dunes surrounding spring-fed lake. Check in at the first-class Dunhuang Int'l Hotel or similar.

Day 13 DUNHUANG/TURPAN (AB, L, D)
This morning you'll tour the magnificent Mogao Caves that feature spectacular Buddhist paintings depicting the life of the upper classes. Overnight train to Turpan.

Day 14 TURPAN (AB, L, D)
With your morning arrival in Turpan you are greeted with old world China, as many of this charming city's inhabitants retain traditional dress and customs. Turpan is one of the lowest points on earth, lying at 505 feet below sea level. Tour the ancient ruins of Gaochang city, the Suliman's Minaret, a beautiful Persian-style tower, Karez Underground Irrigation Channels and Grape Valley. Your accommodations are at the first-class Oasis Hotel or similar.

Day 15 TURPAN/URUMQI (AB, L, D)
Depart for Urumqi by motor coach. Visit the flaming mountains and the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves. After arriving in Urumqi, you will check in to the four-star New Times Hotel or similar.

Day 16 URUMQI (AB, L, D)
Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang and boasts a population of approximately 1 million. In this exotic city, you'll find many people living in a traditional way. Take a cruise on Heavenly Lake in the morning, visit the Heavenly hill grassland.

Day 17 URUMQI/SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)
After sightseeing the city's Museum and the Bazaar, fly to Shanghai, transfer to the
four-star Ambassador Hotel or similar.

Day 18 SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)
Today's sightseeing introduces the major attractions of the city, which includes Nanjing Road, Yuyuan Garden, the Museum of Art and History, and the Jade Buddha Temple. Acrobatic show at night.

Day 19 SHA/SUZHOU/SHA (AB,L,D)
After breakfast, early morning coach or train to Suzhou. Tour includes Master's of the Nets Garden, Cruising on the Grand Canal, Silk Factory or Embroidery Institute. Take coach or train back to Shanghai.

Day 20 SHANGHAI/SFO(AB)
Fly home on board Air China's or United Airlin
