When you arrive Wuhan, you have enough time to take a city tour, visiting the famous Provincial Historical Museum and Yellow Crane Tower and other city sights. Then get on board the Cruise after dinner. The Cruise starts off in the evening. face_2.gif (1010 bytes)When you arrive Wuhan, you have to make an immediate transfer to your boat station at Yichang, spending 7-8 hours on a bus and board in the dark. The whole day of bus riding could make you very tired and your sightseeing starts the day after this.
On the second day of cruise, the ship will pass though the famous massive 230-foot high Gezhouba Dam built in the early Fifties. Then continue to the New Three Gorges Dam. face_2.gif (1010 bytes)The ship detours from the historical Gezhouba Dam, so you miss a great chance to visit the famous spot.

Day 1  SFO/BEIJING

Depart aboard Air China or United Airlines wide cabin 747 jetliner (cross the international dateline.)

Day 2  ARRIVE BEIJING
Arrive in Beijing, and check into the
five-star King Wing Hotel or similar.

Day 3  BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven.

Day 4  BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Full day excursion takes you to visit the spectacular Great Wall, which is the culture symbol of China, and then visit the famous Ming Tombs. Top off the day with a traditional Beijing Duck Banquet.

Day 5  BEIJING/WUHAN (AB, L, D)
Fly to Wuhan at the junction of the Han and Yangtze Rivers. City tour includes the Yellow Crane Pavilion and the Museum before boarding the
Deluxe China Regal Cruiser approved by the National Tourism Administration of China, or similar cruiser. (Boat information can be found on the hotel and boat page.)

Day 6  YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Sailing through the beautiful countryside for the day. On board activities include all kinds of lectures presented by your river guides. Enjoy a welcome cocktail party hosted by the captain.

Day 7  YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L,D)
Cruising to upper Yangtze and pass through the 230-foot-high Gezhouba Dam at Yichang. Here the ship will pass through one of the three massive locks. Continue to sail pass the first, longest of the Three Gorges, Xiling Gorge. Our cruiser will then pass through the world largest, just newly completed five-stage Three Gorges Dam Lock. After then, take a short excursion to the world famous Dam site and the second of the Three Gorges -- Wu Gorge. Ship will dock for the night after arriving at town of Wushan.

Day 8  YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
This morning we will board smaller boats for a trip up the Daning River to the Three Lesser Gorges, a stunning area of dramatic hillsides, caves and lushes bamboo groves, or excursion to Shennong Stream. Our cruisers will then continue onto the last of the Three Gorges, Qutang Gorge.

Day 9  YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B, L, D)
Today we continue to cruise upstream to visit Wanxian on a shore excursion which is a new residential area for the three gorges immigrants and also visit local farmers market or Kindergarden classrooms, or visit the ancient city of Fengdu where we explore the local temples before returning on board for a farewell banquet.

Day 10   CHONGQING (AB, L, D)
Our cruise concludes as arriving in Chongqing, then have a city tour and visit the Panda Zoo. Check into the four-star Wanyou Conifer Hote
l or similar.

Day 11   CHONGQING/LHASA (AB, L, D)
City tour in Chongqing in the morning, then take flight to the holy city of Lhasa, the capital of the mystical Buddhist Kingdom of Tibet, locked away in the mountain fortress of the Himalayas. You will be at leisure this evening at the hotel with time to relax and adjust to the high altitude after checking into the four-star Lhasa Hotel or similar.

Day 12   LHASA (AB, L, D)
Today's sightseeing includes the overwhelming Potala Paace, home to the Dali Lama, the Bakuo Street and the Jokhang Temple built in 647 by Songtsen Gampo and has a history of the more than 1300 years
.

Day 13   LHASA (AB, L, D)
Full day of sightseeing of Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and the Norbulingka Park.

Day 14   LHASA/XIAN (AB, L, D)
After breakfast, transfer from hotel to Gongga airport. Take flight to Xi'an and check into four-star Hotel Royal Garden Xian or similar. In the afternoon, visit the burial site of an incredible army of 8,000 lifelike terra-cotta soldiers and Neolithic Banpo Village. Top off the day with Dumpling Dinner, followed by the Tang Dynasty Cultural Show!

Day 15   XI'AN/SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)
In the morning visit the Ancient City Wall then fly to Shanghai, a world-known cosmopolitan city in China. Check into the four-star Ambassador Hotel or similar.

Day 16   SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)
Today's sightseeing introduces the major attractions which include Bund along Shanghai's waterfront of the city. Yuyuan Garden, the Museum of Art & History and the Jade Buddha Temple, Enjoy and acrobatic show at night.

Day 17   SHANGHAI/SFO (AB, L, D)
Fly home on board Air China or United Airlines wide body jetliner.
